Domain Lock
Domain lock prevents unauthorized transfers or changes to your domain. When enabled, it protects your domain from being moved to another registrar without your explicit approval.
Why use domain lock
Domain lock adds security by:
Preventing unauthorized domain transfers
Blocking accidental transfers initiated by mistake
Protecting against domain hijacking attempts
Requiring manual unlock before any transfer can proceed
Domain lock is enabled (if possible) by default for all Umso-registered domains. We recommend keeping it enabled unless you're actively transferring your domain.
Enable or disable domain lock
1. Open domain settings
Go to the Domains tab and click on the domain you want to manage.
2. Find Domain Lock section
Scroll to the Domain Lock settings in the domain management page.
3. Toggle the lock
Turn domain lock on or off using the toggle switch. Changes take effect immediately.
When to disable domain lock
You'll need to disable domain lock if you want to:
Transfer your domain to another registrar
Transfer your domain to a different Umso account
Remember to re-enable domain lock after completing your transfer or changes. An unlocked domain is more vulnerable to unauthorized access.
