Email Forwarding Rules
Email forwarding lets you create email addresses at your domain and automatically forward messages to your existing email inbox. This is useful for professional addresses like [email protected] without setting up a full email server.
Before you begin: Your domain must be registered or transferred to Umso. Email forwarding is available for all domains managed through Umso.
Set up email forwarding
1. Go to your domain settings
Click the Domains tab, then select the domain where you want to set up email forwarding.
2. Open Email Forwarding
Find the Email Forwarding section in your domain settings.
3. Add a forwarding rule
Click "Add Forwarding Rule" and enter:
The email address you want to create (e.g., contact, support, hello)
Where emails should be forwarded (your personal or business email)
You can create multiple forwarding rules for the same domain. Common examples: info@, support@, hello@, and sales@ all forwarding to your main inbox.
Manage existing rules
To edit or delete forwarding rules:
Go to your domain's Email Forwarding section
Find the rule you want to change
Click the menu icon to edit the destination or delete the rule
Changes take effect within a few minutes.
Catch-all forwarding
A catch-all rule forwards all emails sent to any address at your domain (even ones you haven't specifically created) to a single inbox. This is useful for capturing all messages, but can increase spam.
To set up catch-all forwarding, create a rule using "*" or "@yourdomain.com" as the source address.
Email forwarding works for incoming mail only. When you reply to forwarded emails, they'll come from your personal email address, not your domain address. For full sending capabilities, you'll need a complete email hosting service.
