The section layout defines how your section appears. There are multiple options for each section in most cases. You can change the layout by clicking the "Layout" button in the menu on your section shown here:

You get multiple options for the section and you can select which one you like. The content will not change so can easily test multiple layouts and decide which one fits your needs best.

You can edit the spacing of your section to the sections above and below by clicking "Edit Spacing". This will enable the mode where you can click the small handle and "pull" to adjust the spacing as shown here:
